Ahead of the first round of this year’s Nürburgring Langstrecken Series, Josh headed out to Germany last Friday for his first test in the newly-built Mertens Motorsport Hyundai i30N Fastback. Josh and the team had a productive test, learning about the new car and setting competitive lap times throughout the day.
Josh said “The team have put a lot of effort into building this car over the winter so everyone was very excited to see it roll out onto the track for the first time. Heading into the first race with a new car, it’s natural that there is still work to do on the setup, but we’ve made good progress today and I hope we can make a strong start to the season.”
With less than two weeks to go until the championship kicks off, Josh and the team enter the final stages of their preparations as they aim to hit the ground running.
Rounds one and two will take place from the 5th to the 7th of April, with Josh lining up alongside team boss, Dany Mertens in the Hyundai. Keep an eye on Josh’s social media for the latest updates throughout the weekend and follow all the action via the championship livestream and timing pages.
