As the Nürburging racing season got underway, Josh made his long-awaited debut in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN), driving for SRS Team Sorg Rennsport at the wheel of a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, and also attended the launch event of the PETN Talent Pool.

The Talent Pool launch event consisted of numerous workshops to educate the young drivers on topics such as car setup, data analysis and human performance, in addition to simulator preparation, media sessions, and a company tour of Manthey.

"Being a part of the Talent Pool is an incredible opportunity and I'm extremely grateful to have been chosen as one of eight drivers on the programme. These first two days have been really fascinating and I'm excited to continue learning from the expertise of the team at Porsche and Manthey throughout the season." - Josh Hislop

Friday testing was highly productive with Josh and his teammate, Tommy Graberg, completing more than half a race distance between them, and getting faster with every lap. A difficult qualifying saw the #969 car line up 9th out of 16 cars in the Cup 3 class, however, in typical Nürburgring fashion, a period of rain before the race created opportunities to move forward. As the track dried up, Josh and Tommy showed strong pace and consistency to work their way towards the front of the field, ultimately finishing fourth. Additionally, they secured second place in the ProAm division and a win in the AM division.

“Fourth place in the overall Cup 3 classification is a strong result for my debut in the PETN. Of course, there is still a lot for me to learn; getting used to the car and how it responds to my inputs, but it was a positive start to the season and I hope we can build on this in the coming races.” - Josh Hislop
